Fabrics arrived this morning, première mise en ligne par Set Carré.

New fabrics arrival!! The flowers prints are from Robert Kaufman, Fresh As A Daisy collection. The birds print is from Erin Morris, Park Slope collection. And the fabric with the big dots is called Disco Dots from Michael Miller. Can't wait to create something new with these fabrics!!

Get ready for Christmas

I told you before about my christmas coasters. Here they are. Order quickly since I've got only one set of 2 from each fabric!

Les voilà mes sous-verres de Noël. Commandez rapidement puisque je n'ai que deux sous-verres de chaque tissu.

Quilt restoration

Antique Quilt, première mise en ligne par Set Carré.

That is an old quilt that I restored for a friend of mine. His grandmother made it probably in the 30s. That was a lot of work since my friend has washed it in a machine several times (Shame on him!!!).

What I had to do :
- Take off the old binding;
- Sew by hand about a 60 unsewn seams;
- Find fabrics that coordinate the old ones and patch 3 big holes (by appliqué);
- Create and sew a new binding.

It took me around 24 hours but I am happy with the result. Hopefully it will last another 75 years!

J'ai restauré cette courtepointe antique pour un ami. C'est sa grand-mère qui l'a cousue probablement dans les années 30. Ce fut tout un travail étant donné que l'ami en question l'avait lavée à la machine, sacrilège!!

Voici le travail effectué :
- découdre et retirer l'ancienne bordure déchirée;
- recoudre environ 60 coutures décousues;
- trouver des tissus pour coordonner les anciens et réparer trois grands trous (par appliqué);
- créer et coudre une nouvelle bordure.

J'y ai mis 24 heures de travail, mais je suis contente du résultat. En espérant que la courtepointe tiendra un autre 75 ans!
